The Cottage

Luxury self catering holiday cottage on the edge of Bodmin Moor

Jupiter Lodge is a modern detached cottage, double glazed with central heating and equipped to a high standard, with an acre paddock adjoining. It sleeps 8 having 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Heating and all utilities are included.

Approached from the gravel parking area to the side of the property with space for several cars, a gently sloping path leads up to a covered porch and the front door which opens directly into an open plan living room. It features a well-equipped, fully fitted kitchen with an island unit, a dining suite and lounge area with comfortable seating for all. French Windows lead out to the sun terrace with views over open countryside towards Kit Hill.

To the rear of the property on the ground floor, an inner lobby leading off the lounge area gives access to a double bedroom with an ensuite wet room with shower, W.C. and hand basin, and a smaller bedroom with adult-sized bunk beds.

Stairs lead up from the lounge to the first floor landing where there is a family bathroom with a bath, W.C. and hand basin, and two pleasantly furnished bedrooms; a twin-bedded double room at the rear, and the master bedroom with a king-sized double bed to the front of the house. The master bedroom has panoramic views from a railed balcony of the surrounding countryside and an ensuite shower room with W.C. and hand basin.

There is a travel cot, stair gate and high chair available in the house. Bath and hand towels for all guests are provided.

Downstairs is fully wheelchair accessible, having a ramp to the front door, downstairs double bedroom and an ensuite wet room with spacious shower area (see below).

To the front, there is a patio area with a BBQ and garden furniture for dining outside in the summer, and an adjoining paddock (no resident animals) – an ideal children’s play area.

The paddock includes stabling for 2 horses and guests may arrange to bring their own horses with them for a riding holiday.

Free wifi broadband internet, just bring your laptop.

Cot (bedding not supplied), highchair and stair gate available on request (no charge).

Lounge

The lounge area has settees providing comfortable seating for all guests and more, a widescreen television with ‘Free view’ digibox and a bluetooth speaker (has also cable input). There is a selection of books and games for family fun.

Kitchen

The kitchen area is fully equipped with everything you may need. It has a built-in cooker, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer, microwave, and washing machine. A full range of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, cooking utensils is provided as well as a range of glasses (wine, whisky, beer, Champagne etc.).

Bedrooms

The lodge has 4 bedrooms, a double bedded room with an ensuite wet room and a small bedroom with adult sized bunk beds downstairs. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize double bed and ensuite bathroom as well as a further twin bedded room.

Bathroom

In addition to the 2 ensuite shower rooms, the lodge also has a family bathroom upstairs.

Outside

Outside there is a paved patio area with unobstructed views towards Kit Hill. It has a BBQ together with a table and chairs, and an adjoining 1 acre paddock. A garden shed houses 2 bicycles which guests are welcome to use.

Notes:

1) Change-over day is Saturday and whilst we have some flexibility at some times during the year, a changeover on any other day would not be possible in our peak season.

2) Owing to the fixed costs for preparation, cleaning and laundry, the minimum stay is for 7 nights. A shorter stay is not economically viable for us.

3) We strictly adhere to our “no dogs or other pets” policy in consideration of our other guests.
